General procurement notice for Acquisition of Materials for Rgph-3 Desktop Cartography
The Government of the Republic of Chad has obtained a grant from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of 105,000,000 US dollars, to finance the Project for the harmonization and improvement of statistics in South Africa. West and Center (PHASOC) - Chad and intends to use part of the funds from this Grant to pay for supplies, works and services to be acquired within the framework of this Project. The award of contracts financed by the Bank will be governed by the procedures and provenance criteria defined by the World Bank
Component 1: Harmonization and production of basic statistics using international data quality standards (equivalent to $67.5 million) The activities of this first component concern supporting the regional statistical harmonization process and the production of quality basic statistics to improve the data sources and pillars of the IPS data infrastructure, where participating countries from the region perform very poorly in terms of statistical performance. They are divided into sub-components as follows: Subcomponent 1.2: Production of demographic and socio-economic statistics (equivalent to $44.7 million) This subcomponent helps participating countries produce updated demographic and socio-economic data from PHC and an integrated household survey program. Subcomponent 1.3: Production of statistics on the real and fiscal sectors (equivalent to $7.3 million) Although the scope of real sector statistics is broad and involves different producers, the project focuses on improving the most fundamental real sector statistics: the CPI and national accounts. Additionally, the project will help participating countries implement the 2014 manual on government finance statistics, an area in which countries in the region score low in the statistical performance indicator. Activities in this subcomponent will be implemented in close collaboration with the Strategy, Standards and Review Division of the IMF Statistics Department. Subcomponent 1.4. Production of statistics on agriculture and climate change (equivalent to US$8.4 million) In the Africa region, particularly in West and Central Africa, agriculture represents a significant share of the GDP of some countries (16.9% for Cameroon, 54% for Chad and 30% for the Central African Republic in 2021) and constitutes the main source of income for a large part of the population of these countries. Quality data is needed to inform decisions on promoting sustainable agriculture, improving nutrition and food security, combating the effects of climate change and improving quality national accounts. However, current data on agricultural and livestock production in these countries are not sufficiently complete to meet these objectives.
